Privacy Policy
Tapcade · Effective 6 September 2026 · Last updated 6 September 2026
This policy explains what information the Tapcade mobile application and website ("Tapcade", "the app", "we", "us") handle, why, and what choices you have. Tapcade is a collection of small puzzle games. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not ask you for your name, address, phone number, or payment card details.
Who this policy covers
This policy applies to the Tapcade app distributed through the Google Play Store and any other app store, and to this website. It does not apply to third-party services that you reach from the app, each of which has its own policy. Those services are named in Service providers.
For questions about this policy, including data protection questions, contact soysal.limited@gmail.com.
What information is handled
What is handled depends on which version of the app you have and which features are switched on. Not every category below applies to every release. Categories that are not in use in your version are simply not collected.
1. Information stored only on your device
So that you can close the app and pick up where you left off, Tapcade saves data in your device's local storage. This data is not transmitted to us and is not readable by anyone else:
- Your progress and saved state in individual games
- Scores, streaks, and completion records
- Preferences such as colour theme, sound and haptics settings
- Which games you have liked or bookmarked, and any notes you have written
2. Analytics and product measurement
To understand which games people enjoy, where they get stuck, and whether the app performs well, we use analytics services (which may include Google Analytics for Firebase or a comparable game-analytics provider). These services may collect:
- App usage events: which games are opened, started, completed or abandoned, session length and frequency of use
- Device and software information: device model, operating system version, screen size, language, country, and mobile network or connection type
- Non-permanent identifiers such as an app-instance identifier or a randomly generated installation identifier
- An approximate, city-level location inferred from your IP address. We do not collect GPS or precise location.
- Performance data such as loading times, frame rate and errors
3. Crash and diagnostic reporting
When the app crashes or hits an error, a crash-reporting service may receive a technical report containing the device model, operating system version, the app version, the state of the app at the moment of failure, and a stack trace. These reports are used to fix defects.
4. Advertising
Tapcade may show advertisements. When it does, advertising partners (which may include Google AdMob and mediation partners) may collect and process:
- Your device's advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID), where your device makes one available and you have not deleted or reset it
- Your IP address, which reveals an approximate location
- Device and app information, and information about how you interacted with an advert (that it was shown, viewed or tapped)
Advertising partners may use this to select adverts, to limit how often you see the same advert, and to measure whether adverts work. You can limit this — see Your choices.
5. Purchases
If the app offers in-app purchases or a subscription, payment is handled entirely by Google Play. We never see or store your card number, bank details or billing address. We receive only a confirmation that a purchase was made, an anonymous purchase token, and aggregate sales figures, so that we can unlock what you bought and handle refunds.
6. Notifications
If you allow notifications, a push service (such as Firebase Cloud Messaging) assigns your app installation a device token so that a message can reach it. This token identifies the installation, not you. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings, or in the app.
7. Optional sign-in, cloud save and leaderboards
If a future version lets you sign in — for example with Google Play Games Services — we would receive a player identifier and the display name you have chosen there, so that progress can be synced across your devices and scores can appear on a leaderboard. Signing in would always be optional; the app is fully playable without an account.
8. Messages you send us
If you email us for support, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it to answer you and keep it no longer than needed for that.
What we never collect
Tapcade does not access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, call logs, SMS messages, files, health data, or precise (GPS) location. It does not read other apps on your device.
Why we handle it
| Purpose | Data used | Legal basis (UK/EU GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Running the app and saving your progress | On-device storage | Performance of a contract |
| Fixing crashes, keeping the app secure and stable | Crash and diagnostic data | Legitimate interests |
| Understanding which games work and improving them | Analytics data | Consent, where required; otherwise legitimate interests |
| Showing adverts and measuring them | Advertising identifier, IP, ad interactions | Consent, where required |
| Selling and delivering in-app purchases | Purchase confirmation from Google Play | Performance of a contract |
| Answering support requests | Your email and message | Legitimate interests |
Where the law requires consent — for example for personalised advertising in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland — the app asks for it before the relevant processing begins, and you can change your answer later in the app's settings.
Service providers
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising outside the advertising described above. We do rely on service providers who process data on our behalf. Depending on the app version these may include:
- Google — Google Play distribution and billing, Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Google AdMob and Google Play Games Services. Google Privacy Policy
- Advertising mediation and ad networks served through AdMob, each operating under its own privacy policy, listed in the app's settings where such partners are in use.
- GitHub — hosting of this website. GitHub Privacy Statement
These providers operate globally, so data may be transferred to and stored in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where such transfers are made from the EEA or the UK, they rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent approved mechanism.
How long it is kept
- On-device data stays until you clear the app's storage or uninstall the app.
- Analytics data is retained in aggregated or pseudonymised form, typically for up to 14 months, after which it is deleted or fully aggregated.
- Crash reports are kept up to 90 days.
- Purchase records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Support emails are deleted once the matter is resolved and no longer needed.
Your choices
- Delete everything the app has stored: clear the app's storage or uninstall it. On Android: Settings › Apps › Tapcade › Storage › Clear data.
- Limit advertising: Android lets you delete or reset your advertising ID and opt out of ad personalisation under Settings › Privacy › Ads. You can also change your consent choice inside the app where a consent prompt was shown.
- Turn off notifications: in your device settings, or in the app.
- Turn off analytics: where the app offers an analytics toggle in its settings, switching it off stops analytics collection from that installation.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under the EU/UK GDPR, the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK No. 6698), and the California Consumer Privacy Act — you may have the right to ask for access to your personal data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may also withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that already happened.
Because Tapcade does not hold an account or a name for you, we usually cannot find "your" records from an email address alone. In practice the fastest and most complete way to erase your data is to clear the app's storage and reset your advertising ID. If you would still like to make a request, write to soysal.limited@gmail.com and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Account deletion
If a version of the app lets you create an account, you will be able to delete that account and its associated data from inside the app, and by written request to the address above.
Children's privacy
Tapcade contains no violence, blood, gore, sexual content, gambling, profanity or frightening imagery, and is rated accordingly. Even so, the app is directed at a general audience aged 13 and over, and it is not designed for or targeted at children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact soysal.limited@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.
Security
Data in transit between the app and any service provider is protected with industry-standard encryption (TLS). No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we keep the amount of data collected deliberately small, which is the strongest protection available.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page whenever the app starts handling a new category of data, and we will change the "Last updated" date at the top. Where a change is significant, we will tell you inside the app before it takes effect. The Data safety section of the app's Google Play listing is kept consistent with this policy.
